Local elementary school age boys and girls began playing in the Albany NFL Flag Football league this past week.

Eleven teams, divided into four divisions with  just under 100 kids, will continue their season through the end of October.

The teams will play against each other at the high school baseball field on Saturdays and some Tuesday afternoons.

Two games, both taking place between teams in the same age group, are held at the same time, each on a 50-yard field.

Kindergarten and

First Grade

Coaches for the kindergarten and first grade division include Stephen Sutton – Bills, Anthony Cedar – Buccaneers, Campbell Terry – Raiders, and Sam Balliew – Bears.

Second and

Third Grade

Coaches for the second and third grade division include Morgan Smith – Ravens, Spencer Balliew – Chiefs, Cameron Holson  – Colts, and Dan Key – Texans.

The second and third graders play on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m.

Fourth and

Fifth Grade

Coaches for the fourth and fifth grade division include Tony Wheeler – Steelers, Cedar – Cowboys

Sixth Grade

The coach for the sixth grade division is Spencer Newson. Because there is only one team in that age division, the sixth graders play in Abilene in the FCA league.
