The Albany FFA Chapter has elected its officers for the 2018-2019 school year, and the new chapter leaders attended a Chapter Officer Leadership Training conference in Abilene on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

FFA officers for the 2018-2019 school year are president Madison Wilkins, vice president Tyler Beard, secretary Cutter Edgar, treasurer Taylor Scott, and reporter Seth Hale. Also serving the chapter this year are sentinel Conner Clark, historian Mady Connally, parliamentarian Julia Bowman, and chaplain Alayna Koemel.

Advisor Chris Beard, all of the FFA freshmen, and officers Wilkins and Edgar attended Greenhand Camp in Abilene on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

The Albany FFA and FCCLA will participate in Ag Awareness Day at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Students will support the local community by participating in a canned food drive for the North Texas Food Bank.

They will compete in an educational scavenger hunt across the fairgrounds, and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The day will conclude with a special agricultural message and the recognition of youth leadership and development organizations in the state.
