Little Dribblers signup started

Signup is underway for Little Dribblers basketball and local boys and girls from eight years old through fourth grade are invited to join.

“Players must be at least eight years of age on Jan. 1,” said organizer Clint Chapman.

Parents need to complete, sign, and return the registration form along with the $30 entry fee to either the Nancy Smith Elementary School office or to Chapman by Wednesday, Jan. 23.

“We need the registrations turned in by then so we can have time to pick teams,” Chapman said. “Teams will play games each Saturday. The first set of games will be on Feb. 9, and we will continue playing until March 2.”

All of the games will be played in the old high school gym on nine-foot goals, added Chapman.

Boys and girls will play on separate teams, and Chapman expects to have four boys teams and four girls teams.

Coaches are still needed for the teams, and parents are encouraged to volunteer.

The Albany Little Dribblers Association usually waits until the season is winding down for the fifth and sixth grade youth basketball teams before starting Little Dribblers, so the gyms aren’t too crowded for practices.
