Library now open afternoons on weekdays
By Lynsi Musselman
The reopening of the Shackelford County Library continues with the transition to regular hours of Monday through Thursday 12:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The library was open on Mondays in June and is still limited to four patrons at a time.
Gloves will be provided, and a face covering from home will be required to be worn while readers are inside the building.
“We will limit one person at a time on a computer in order to sanitize them between uses,” Ledbetter said. “Readers will be allowed in the library in 30-minute increments, and elementary-age children need to be accompanied by an adult.”
Curbside delivery is also available if readers know what book they would like and call ahead.
“All returned books will be sanitized and quarantined for one week before they are put back into circulation,” Ledbetter said.
The library is following CDC guidelines for social distancing and patrons should stay home if they are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19.
Checking books out online is also still available for readers that prefer the comfort of their home.
Children to adult books in a variety of genres can be located at https://shackelford.biblionix.com.
There is a one-time setup process to access books. To receive a user name and password, readers should call 325-762-2672 or e-mail albanylib@gmail.com.
Once readers are set up online, they just type in the title they are looking for.
Call 325-762-2672 with additional questions about hours and about checking books out online or in person.
