Five Shackelford County 4-Hers will be competing for top places Monday-Thursday, June 5-8 at the State 4-H Roundup in College Station, while a sixth will be receiving a significant scholarship.

Leddie Leech has been named a recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Texas 4-H Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program. The scholarship is spread over eight semesters.

“I’m so appreciative and grateful for 4-H and thankful for having Kelsey Bell as an agent,” said Leech, who will attend Texas Tech. “She and the other agents I’ve had along the way have been a lot of help.”

On Wednesday, the horse judging team of Faith Fry, Jordan Fikes, Paisley Clark, and Madailein Beard will compete. Fry will compete in equine educational presentation on Thursday.

Fry and Riley Reames have multiple entries in the photography contest with results to be announced during the week.
