Albany High School juniors and seniors will crown the 2021 prom queen and king during the Junior-Senior Prom to be held from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15 at the Whitney Theater.

“A Black Tie Affair” is the theme of this year’s prom, which will be sponsored by the junior class and chaperoned by the junior class sponsors.

The dance is open to AHS juniors, seniors, and their dates.

Dates have to be enrolled in a high school but can be from other high schools with prior approval.

Attendees who are not a member of either the junior or senior class will need to have a ticket for admission to the prom.

Tickets are available at the AHS office and cost $10 if purchased in advance or $15 at the door.

As in recent years, students who leave the party will not be allowed to return.

Light refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks will be available at the dance.

Prom Court

As of press time, the prom court nominees had not been selected by AHS students.

The process is done on-line and requires a 70 percent participation rate. As of Tuesday afternoon, only 40 percent of the students had voted on nominees, so there were no names to be announced.
