Albany Junior High School students will perform a production of “The Trial of Goldilocks” on Tuesday, Nov. 16 for the public in advance of their presentation at UIL contest.

The one-act play, written by Joseph Robinette, involves 16 cast members, two technical crew members, and two stagehands.

The public performance is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Albany High School auditorium.

The students will compete the next week, on Thursday, Nov. 18 at Stamford.

The class has been rehearsing the piece since the start of the school year, director Melanie Turner said.

The comedy, performed entirely in verse, examines the fairy tale from three perspectives – the traditional story, the Bears’ viewpoint, and Goldilocks’ version.

Paisley Clark will play the role of Goldilocks. The Bear Family will be played by Breylon Billington (Papa), Mimi Ivy (Mama), and Madison Parrott (Baby).

Other characters include the Bears’ animal friends, a hard-of-hearing judge, a harried clerk, two comic lawyers, and a jury.

There will be no charge to attend the performance on Nov. 16.
