The Albany Junior High one act play cast has taken on the task of providing justice in the comedy “The Trial of Goldilocks,” which will be presented today in Stamford at the district contest.

The group performed the play for a local audience on Tuesday in preparation for the competition. Albany will perform second on Thursday (today) at about 11:15 a.m., according to director Melanie Turner.

“The kids have improved greatly over the past week,” Turner said. “I think they feel much more prepared and confident this week.”

The teacher said that the contest starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Stamford auditorium.

Each play has a 40-minute time limit.

There is a cast of 16, along with two technical crew members and two stagehands.

Caroline Chapman plays the lead role of Goldilocks, along with the Bear family actors Breylon Billington as Papa Bear, Mimi Ivy as Mama Bear, and Madison Parrott as Baby Bear.

The comedy explores the case of Goldilocks from three different perspectives – her own, the Bear family and the original children’s story in a courtroom setting.
