The Shackelford County Hospital District’s board of directors made two quick motions in a special called meeting on Monday, June 26 and adjourned just 15 minutes after convening.

EMS employee Kent Stewart submitted a formal resignation to the board, with a motion made by Jason Price, seconded by Mike Folsom, to accept it.

Stewart had appealed his termination at the June 19 meeting, and it was learned this week that a motion at the end of  a 1-1/2 hour closed session was made “to overturn the wrongful termination of Kent Stewart due to evidence.”

The motion also included a clause that he “will be placed on administrative leave without pay until a policy and procedure review at the next meeting,” but instead Stewart turned in his resignation.

The only other action at Monday’s meeting was to accept a 3.3% price increase and continue employee health insurance with TML.
