Hospital budget to be proposed

A special meeting of the Shackelford County Hospital District’s board of directors is planned for this Friday, Sept. 4, when it is expected that the 2021 budget will be finalized and proposed along with a tax rate.

The minutes of an Aug. 17 session reflected that the budget and rate proposals were made at that time, but directors continued to trim expenses at another two-hour workshop on Aug. 24.

In order to get the tax rate approved before the end of the month, the special session was set for 4:00 p.m. Friday, with the intention of holding a budget hearing on Sept. 21, then adopting the budget and subsequently, the tax rate, at the same meeting.
