Albany News

Much of Mondaynight’s hour-long meeting of the Shackel ford County Hospital District board of directors was spent considering proposals from the Texas County and District Retirement System, although action was tabled until next month.

TCDRS representative Kristina Fox went through the services that are offered, stating that there are 831 Texas counties and districts, including water, hospital, appraisal, and emergency service districts, currently participating in the program.

The directors stopped short of approving a plan, stating that they wanted employees to have an opportunity to review the proposals first.

After discussion about children playing on the helipad, the directors decided to install signs stating that it is a hazardous area, and violators can be prosecuted.

The board also decided to install signs around the hospital property advising that parking is restricted to hospital personnel and that other vehicles and equipment will be subject to towing.
