Holiday recipes needed by Nov. 11

Albany News

The Albany News’ 16th annual holiday recipe section will be published in one month, with favorite recipes being solicited from all ages of current and former Albany and Moran chefs and bakers.

“We’ve had really good response since we started publishing the recipe guides, and we’re looking forward to getting this one underway,” said News editor Melinda Lucas. “I’ve already heard from a couple of people.”

All kinds of recipes from appetizers and beverages to desserts are being requested.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s a simple one-dish supper recipe or a complicated, flashy four-layer cake,” Lucas continued. “If it’s an everyday family favorite or a traditional holiday treat, we’d like to share it with our readers.”

She also encouraged readers to submit recipes from others, as long as there’s not a problem with publication.

“If you already have them in a digital version, sending them as a Word or Google document or even  just as an email saves us both typing and proofing time,” said Lucas.

The official deadline for the special section is Thursday, Nov. 11. The tab will be included in the Nov. 18 edition.

Recipes can be brought to the News office, faxed to 325-762-3201, or emailed to news@thealbanynews.net.
