Hise qualifies for state competition

Moran’s Ellis Hise qualified for FFA state competition Monday, May 15, at the Area IV convention in Wichita Falls.

Hise, a sophomore, placed first in the Star Lone Star Farmer agribusiness competition. He also won the Proficiency Award for Ag Services Entrepreneurship.

Hise interviewed with a panel of judges for his proficiency in ag services: entrepreneurship. He advances with his Star Lone Star Farmer in agribusiness to state, where he will interview again in a bid to move on to the finals at the FFA State Convention is July 10-14 in Dallas.

Hise’s agribusiness project is making leather goods for retail sale.

To advance, Hise won the Big Country District and Area IV competitions for both his Proficiency Award and his Star Lone Star in Agribusiness.

The End Is Nigh

Moran has daily programs scheduled for the final week of the school year.

The FFA banquet will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 22 at the gym.

The academic and athletic awards banquet will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23 at the gym.

Also on Tuesday, elementary field day will be held during the day.

On Wednesday, May 23, the elementary awards assembly will be held in the morning. At 1:00 p.m., a basketball game between the senior class and faculty will be played in the gym.

The final day of classes is Thursday, May 25. That evening, graduation cere­monies for kindergarten and eighth grade will be held.

Graduation Plans

Baccalaureate ceremonies for the Class of 2023 will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at First Baptist Church in Moran.

Graduation exercises will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 26 at Cisco College Auditorium.

Eight seniors will receive their diplomas.
