Harvest Acres set Sunday
By Sam Waller
Friendship Baptist Church’s fifth annual Harvest Acres bazaar offers local residents a chance to enjoy food, crafts and fellowship all while helping worthy causes.
The event will start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church’s Activity Center located at 600 Greer St.
“We’re really excited about it,” Danita Johnston said. “It’s one of our favorite days because we get to have fellowship with each other in the process of sharing our talents with the community. That’s the thing we really look forward to.”
The bazaar will offer various craft items and Christmas decorations, as well as a silent auction.
Stew and chili will be offered for takeout throughout the event with donations accepted. Other food items include baked and canned goods. Pre-made casseroles will be available to freeze for quick meals during the holiday season.
“We just enjoy serving,” Johnston said. “We look forward to seeing people come and get some takeout food, visit with us, and have a good time.”
Money raised will benefit local missions.
“The money that we raise helps people in Albany,” Johnston said. “There will be lots of those needs coming up, I think.”
