Friendship Baptist Church will continue its fall tradition with the sixth annual Harvest Acres bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 19.

The event has been scheduled for the Saturday before Thanksgiving since its inception. This year’s Harvest Acres will start at 9:00 a.m. at the church’s Activity Center located at 600 Greer Street.

“It’s always a good time,” organizer Danita Johnston said. “We enjoy hanging out and fellowshipping with each other. It’s a fun Saturday as a congregation.”

The bazaar will offer various craft items and Christmas decorations, as well as a silent auction.

“There will be a little bit of furniture, including some handmade tables,” Johnston said. “What shows up on the day is what gets sold.”

Stew and chili will be offered for dine-in or take-out throughout the event, with donations accepted.

Food will be a big attraction at the event as members of the congregation will prepare baked goods, candies, and canned goods just in time for the holidays.  Pre-made casseroles also will be available to freeze for a quick and easy meal during the busy holiday season.

Friendship Baptist uses Harvest Acres to raise money for local missions, Johnston said, with all money staying in the community.

More information will be available as the event gets closer.  For any additional information, contact Pastor Paul Johnston at 325-660-2347 or Danita Johnston at 325-660-2877.
