Back to school activities will continue with a Hamburger Supper at the Bank Park on Monday, Aug. 10 at 6:00 p.m.

The traditional Albany Athletic Booster Club event will have pre-bagged burgers with all the fixings and chips.

Booster Club secretary Tisha Wilkins said to reduce personal contact, the meals will be packaged in brown bags and handed to guests along with a bottle of water for $7.

Junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders will make homemade ice cream, to be pre-served in cups with lids.

Fall sports and cheerleaders will be introduced at the event, along with a performance by the Albany Cheer Cubs Camp attendees.

Wilkins said the Booster Club is looking into having First Street blocked off so people can spread out more.

“We are trying to encourage social distancing if possible,” Wilkins said. “Masks are optional.”

One change to this year’s event is that varsity wooden A’s will be passed out a day or two after the supper.

Wilkins said to watch the Booster Club’s Facebook page for the announcement.

Club members plan to meet on Thursday at the Feed Store at 6:00 p.m. to confirm plans.

Wilkins added that plans can still change if necessary.

Ad Sales

Football program ads are still being sold for the Booster Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Businesses and individuals who would like to purchase an ad can contact Wilkins at 325-660-7443.

Ad sales and sizes are the same as last year.

Business card size is $30, quarter page ad is $60, half page is $120, and a full page is $250.

Ads for the program can be for any athlete, cheerleader, student, or business. The deadline to purchase an ad in the magazine-type 2020 football program is Friday, July 31.
