Albany sports fans are invited to attend the All-Sports Athletic Booster Club Hamburger Supper that will be held at the Bank Park on Monday, Aug. 10 at 6:00 p.m.

The community event will serve a packaged meal in brown bags, handed to guests with a bottle of water for a cost of $7 to the general public.

High school athletes and coaches eat free of charge.

Junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders will make complimentary homemade ice cream, to be pre-served in cups with lids.

In addition to the meal,  fall athletes and cheerleaders with be introduced during the evening, and there will be a performance by the Albany Cheer Cubs Camp participants.

Booster Club secretary  Tisha Wilkins said the picnic-style event will not provide tables and chairs this year, but families are encouraged  to bring blankets or chairs to sit on.

“We want to provide an environment for families to be able to space out at a comfortable distance,” Wilkins said. “We also plan to have First Street blocked off to provide additional room for the event.”

Wilkins added that the varsity wooden A’s will not be handed out at the supper, but they will be passed out a day or two after.

She said to watch the Booster Club Facebook page for the announcement of when the $5 wooden A’s will be ready.

“The Booster Club supports every team and every sport, with 100 percent of fundraising proceeds going towards what the club does to support each athlete,” Wilkins said.

With revenue collected through the hamburger supper, football program advertisements and sales, concession stand income, and spirit shop sales, the Booster Club is able to also support coaches by providing wish lists items that are not available from the school.

“The funds raised during the year also allow the Booster Club to finance the end-of-year banquet,” Wilkins explained.

The football program ad sales have wrapped up, and the program will be available to purchase at the first home game on  Friday, Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m. against Colorado City.
