Green, Fuentes crowned at prom
By Donnie A. Lucas
It truly was a “Night to Remember” for Albany High School juniors and seniors along with their guests at the 2023 Prom held Saturday night at the Whitney Theatre.
Attendees were hit with rain and even dodged small hail as they arrived for the festivities, and again had to contend with the elements while leaving.
Seniors London Fuentes and Presley Green were named Prom King and Queen, selected from a list of four senior nominees for each post. Only members of the junior and senior classes were eligible to vote for the honors.
Nominees for Prom King included Fuentes, Coy Lefevre, Andrew Leverton, and Caden Price. Green was selected as Prom Queen from a field that also included nominees Chloé Anderson, Gineveve Soders, and Briley Tabor.
The event was hosted by the junior class, with fathers of the junior class providing valet parking at the red carpet entrance. The juniors, parents and sponsors also furnished finger foods and water for the event.
Local photographer Chelsea Parsons set up a backdrop upstairs for guests to have pictures taken, which will be provided to those attending at no cost.
