Albany Golf Course will host two fundraising tournaments later this month sponsored by the Shackelford Youth and Livestock Association and the Albany Masonic Lodge.

The Youth and Livestock Association will host a three-person scramble on Saturday-Sunday, July 22-23, with proceeds going toward the renovation of the Shackelford County livestock barn.

Entry fee is $125 per person and includes a meal Saturday evening. Matt Stapp will perform during the meal.

The field is limited to the first 36 paid teams. Tee times will be 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Organizer Reggy Spencer, a member of the Association’s finance committee, said there are still a few openings available.

“We’ve got about 30 teams entered,” Spencer said. “We’ve got a couple of afternoon spots left and six or seven morning spots.”

For information, contact Spencer at 325-370-8990.

Next up at the local course is the Albany Masonic Lodge Scholarship Tournament, also a three-person scramble, on Saturday, July 29.

Entry fee is $150 per team and includes a meal. Sponsorships are also available at $500 for a hole sponsor, $650 for hole sponsor plus team entry, and $1,000 for corporate sponsor plus team entry.

A meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. with teams teeing off at 1:00 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded for long drive on No. 3 and closest to the pin on No. 6.

The field is limited to the first 18 paid teams. All proceeds benefit the Albany Masonic Lodge Wisdom Foundation, which awards college scholarships to high school graduates.

For information, contact Randall Palmore at 325-762-5166 or John Tate at 325-514-0367.

Upcoming events at the course include the Albany Golf Club’s Labor Day Tournament, a two-person scramble, scheduled for Sept. 2-3. Three events are scheduled for October. Scholarship fundraisers for Xi Chi Pi Sorority (Oct. 7) and the Kiwanis Club (Oct. 20) will sandwich the AGC’s Club Championship (Oct. 14-15).
