The annual Father’s Day golf tournament sponsored by the Albany Golf Club was shortened for some as heavy rains moved in on Sunday.

The event, held last weekend, saw teams of three participate in a scramble format tournament.

While many teams were not able to compete during both days due to rain, those who played on Sunday morning managed to get both days in.

The heavy rainfall also impacted the scoring for the event.

“We didn’t post actual scores because they would be confusing with two of the three groups only playing one round,” said club president Randy Walker.

However, the final standings, without scores, were reported to the News on Monday.

In the championship flight, the team of Doan, Hall, and Toombs placed first, the team of Rincon, Jones, and Rincon was second, and the team of Gomez, Callaway, and Lee finished third.

In the first flight, the team of Thomas, Davis, and Hall placed first, the team of Hargett, Hobbs, and Hargett second, and the team of Walker, Trimble, and Ivy third.

In the second flight, the team of Hill, Garcia, and Hill was first, the team of Balliew, Wheeler, and Balliew second, and the team of Teague, Williams, and Teague third.

The second flight was able to play during both days of the tournament.
