The Albany Golf Club will conduct its annual membership meeting Saturday at the municipal golf course with the opening round of the club championship to tee off right after.

A brisket lunch is scheduled for noon Saturday with the meeting to start by 12:30 p.m.

Golf Club board member James Waters said two board positions will be voted on at the meeting.

“Both incumbent board members, Charles Barrett and Bucky Nail, have agreed to run again,” Waters said. “Once we get in the meeting, members can also nominate other people who want to run.”

Board members act as an advisory committee for the City of Albany, which owns the course.

Waters said the club currently serves between 110 and 120 members. A basic family membership is $35 per month.

The 36-hole club championship is scheduled to tee off at 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with golfers playing 18 holes each day.

Waters said Sunday’s round will be flighted based on Saturday’s results.

The tournament is free to all Golf Club members. Golfers must be members of Albany Golf Club to participate.
