Girls conditioning continues

By Donnie A. Lucas

While the boys are finishing their summer conditioning program today, the girls program will still offer sessions through next Thursday, July 29.

The girls conditioning and sport specific training picked up last Monday after a two-week break and will continue through next week.

Female athletes finished sport specific sessions for basketball skills in June, but volleyball sessions continued earlier in the month. Only conditioning will be offered next week since the volleyball team camp is scheduled for the afternoons.

Conditioning is set for 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday through Thursday only.

Team Camp

The Lady Lions team volleyball team camp for girls in grades 9-12 who plan to play volleyball in the fall has been set for July 26-29 at the high school.

The camp will be conducted by Bre Shelton, the head volleyball coach at Hardin-Simmons University.

Registration for the camp has been open for several weeks, but it is not too late to participate. Cost of the three-day camp is $40.

Players should have received a letter last week about the camp, as well as the specifics about volleyball two-a-days.

Sessions will be held on Monday and Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The final class will be on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

For more information about the camp, contact coach M.J. Reneau.
