Both morning and afternoon tee times are available in the fourth annual Junior Garcia Memorial Golf Tournament taking place at the Albany Golf Course this Saturday, Oct. 27, and organizers are hoping that a few more entries will enable them to host a successful fundraiser in spite of being rained out two weeks ago.

“Everybody is welcome to come; we have plenty of open spots,” said organizer James Sanders. “Several of the teams originally signed up had to cancel because of scheduling conflicts.”

Entry fees are $300 per team for the four-person best ball golf scramble, with tee times at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Sponsorships are available at several levels and include a single hole sponsor for $150, $300 for a team, $400 to sponsor a golf team and a hole, or $1,500 for a Silver Sponsorship.

Donations to the 501c3 non-profit organization are tax deductible.

A fajita meal, auction, live music, and raffle drawing will all follow the conclusion of the afternoon round of golf.

Entry into the golf tournament includes a ticket to the meal, and others can also come and join in the dinner and entertainment for $20 per person.

Auction and raffle items are still being accepted.

The Class of 1988 holds the charitable event every year in honor of their classmate Eligio Garcia, Jr., who died in a highway accident in 2015. Funds raised by the tournament, auction, meal, and raffle are used to help support local charities and provide scholarships for Albany graduates.
