Funding needed for upcoming Day Camp

ResourceCare is accepting sponsorships for its Summer Day Camp, which starts Monday, July 11.

“We’re taking sponsorships through the end of next week (Friday, July 1),” ResourceCare’s Mindy Ary said. “The sponsors’ names will be on the back of all the campers’  T-shirts. In order to meet the printing deadline, we’ll have to have those in by next week.”

To help sponsor the camp, contact Resource Care at 325-762-2447 or mail checks to Resource Care, Attn: Summer Day Camp, P.O. Box 2435, Albany TX 76430.

Donations may also be delivered to the Resource Care front desk.

Another way to help is to give contributions of items such as spray-on sunscreen and bottled water.

Because the meals served at Day Camp are funded through the Summer Food Program grant, no outside food or snacks are allowed.

The camp is scheduled for July 11-22 at the Youth Center. Ary said campers must be dropped off by 8:45 a.m. each day to participate in activities.

Registration for the 2022 Day Camp is now closed. ResourceCare is set to have 168 campers in attendance.

In addition, about 30 high school students and 12 volunteers will work the camp. Orientation for camp workers and volunteers will be Wednesday, June 29.
