Everyone in the community is invited to a free showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the historic Aztec Theater in downtown Albany on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The doors will open at 6:00 p.m., with the film to start at 6:30 p.m.

Kellie and Austin Sherwood, with some help from the Aztec of Albany board, have planned the evening with the hope of utilizing what they believe is an Albany jewel.

“We’ve been wanting to do this for a while now,” said Kellie Sherwood. “Austin and I think that the Aztec is a great little theater and such an asset to Albany. We want to take advantage of it.”

The Sherwoods believe that a Christmas family movie would be a great place to start what they hope will become a regular event.

“We would love to do this every year, or maybe even several times a year,” said Kellie. “We might have a date night sometime with more of an adult movie like Top Gun.”

Free popcorn will be provided. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
