Flag football begins 2nd half of season

The Albany NFL Flag Football League began the second half of its season Saturday, Oct. 23 with all three division races still undecided.

Games are played at the high school baseball field.

The league has two more weeks of play remaining before conducting its Super Bowl week Nov. 8-11.

Kindergarten-

First Grade

The Seahawks beat the Titans and the Packers beat the Rams in the youngest category of kindergarten and first graders.

The Seahawks moved into first place at 3-0-1 with the Rams second at 2-1-1. The Packers are 2-2 and the Titans are 0-4.

This week’s games are Seahawks vs. Packers and Titans vs. Rams. Both games start at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Second-Third Grade

Texas Tech defeated TCU in the second and third grade age group, while Texas A&M and Texas tied.

Texas Tech leads the division at 3-1, while Texas A&M and Texas are both 2-1-1. TCU is 0-4.

This week’s games are Texas vs. Texas Tech and Texas A&M vs. TCU. Both games start at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Fourth-Sixth Grade

In the age division made up of fourth through sixth graders, the Cardinals beat the Buccaneers to remain undefeated, and the Cowboys picked up their first victory by beating the Chiefs.

The Cardinals hold the division lead at 4-0. The Chiefs are 2-2 with the Buccaneers and Cowboys both 1-3.

This week’s games are Chiefs vs. Buccaneers and Cowboys vs. Cardinals. Both games start at noon Saturday.
