For many students of the graduating class of 2021, the most difficult part of applying for college is the financial aid process.

Students can apply for federal financial aid, which includes Pell and other other grants, as well as student loans.

The process can be intimidating, especially if a student is the first graduate to apply for financial aid in their family.

In order to help AISD seniors, a FAFSA meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 16, at 6:00 p.m. in the AHS auditorium.

Representatives from Cisco College will be present to assist parents/guardians with completing the FAFSA. Students do not have to plan to attend Cisco College in order to receive help.

Parents/guardians will need to bring tax returns from two years prior, 2019, in order to be able to complete the application. If tax returns aren’t available, there is an option on the FAFSA site to import tax return information directly from the IRS.

In order to use the IRS feature, parents will need to know the exact infomation they used to fill out their 2019 taxes.

For more information on the FAFSA meeting, contact AJSH counselor, Jenny Scott at 325-762-3974, ext. 108.
