With only one day left to file for local offices, as of press time on Tuesday, there was still a shortage of candidates for several of the local boards.

All incumbents currently serving on the Albany City Council have filed for re-election including mayor Susan Montgomery and council members Don Taggart, Austin Sherwood, and Lynsi Musselman.

Cory Brown and Kalico Leech have filed for re-election to their seats on the Albany school board.

The Shackelford County Hospital District seats of Mike Folsom, Jo Ann Estridge, and Leslie Belcher will expire, but no one had filed as of Tuesday.

Moran council incumbents Cindy Hogan and Christal Herrell had signed up, and mayor Steve  Taggart was expected to file.

Moran ISD trustees Sug Roller and Lynda Stockton are running for reelection. Russell Holland had not yet filed at press time.

Fort Griffin SUD board members Sam Snyder and  Burrell McKelvain have filed for new terms.

The filing period for a place on the ballot for local board elections will close by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12.
