Albany Fellowship of Christian Athlete students  can join other youth on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Abilene’s Shotwell Stadium for the Big Country FCA sponsored Fields of Faith.

FCA Big Country East representative and local pastor Paul Johnston said that all junior high and high school students are welcome to attend the event.

“In the past, transportation has been available through the school,” Johnston added. “If the announcement is not made at school that a bus will be going, all students will be responsible for getting to the event on their own.”

Johnston explained that there will be a signed waiver required to attend this year’s Fields of Faith.

The waiver can be signed online before the event by contacting Johnston, or students can sign a paper waiver at the gate before the event.

Fields of Faith is a peer-to-peer movement where students gather on athletic fields to share stories and challenge each other to apply the Bible as their game plan for life.

“This event is like a Billy Graham crusade on steroids,” Johnston reported. “The energy in the stadium will give you goose bumps.

He added that there will be a band, student testimonials, and a speaker from the Dallas Fort Worth area.

The program should be over about 8:15 p.m.

Five events, including the one in Abilene, have been or will be held in the Big Country this month.

Johnston said normally about 8,000 area students attend Fields of Faith, but half that number is expected this year because of COVID-19 concerns.

The gate opens at 6:30 p.m., and masks will be required to enter the stadium.
