FGSUD plans to cancel election

The Fort Griffin Special UtilitiesDistrictannounced this week on Tuesday that its May 4 election would be cancelled.

No other details were available at press time, but it is believed that longtime board member Burrell McKelvain will be withdrawinghiscandidacy.

McKelvain, along with Sam Snyder and Michael Bartock, had filed for two at-large positions on the FGSUD board.

Meanwhile, the Albany ISDiscontinuingtoprepare for its upcoming election, which will decide between incumbent Bo Brown and challenger Reggy Spencer for the Place 3 seat.

Kalico Leech is unopposed for the Place 4 seat.

AISD administrative assistantLynsiMusselman said Monday that registered voters in the district can begin requesting mail ballots now.

Early voting will be held in the administrative office from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Monday,April 22 to Friday, April26andagainMonday-Tuesday, April 29-30.
