FFA teams place at competitions

Several members of the Albany FFA Chapter competed at the Big Country District’s Leadership Development Events on Monday, Nov. 18 at Cisco College.

Seth Hale made up the Albany entry that placed second high team in Job Interview. Hale will advance to the Area IV contest.

Alayna Koemel competed in Senior Creed Speaking, earning ninth place for the Albany team. 

The local chapter’s Senior Quiz team placed sixth. Members of the team were Addison Asher, Madelyn Connally, Alayna Koemel, and Taylor Scott.

The team of Kamryn Browning, Susie Cormack, and Clara Holson placed third in Radio Broadcasting.

Albany also took three Greenhand teams.

Members of the Greenhand Radio Broadcasting team were Presley Green, Leddie Leech, and Gracie Price.

Greenhand Quiz team members were Chelsy Parsons, Sidney Russell, Briley Tabor, and Ella Webb.

Brylee Moore competed in Greenhand Creed Speaking.

The top two winners in each event at district move on to the Area IV LDEs at Mineral Wells High School on Monday, Nov, 25. 

There are 19 chapters in the Big Country District and a total of 94 in Area IV.

Other chapters in the Big Country District are Moran, Cisco, Bangs, and multiple schools from Taylor, Coleman, Runnels, and Callahan counties.

Tarleton LDE Meet

Albany FFA sent two teams of students to participate at the Tarleton State University Invitational LDE contest in Stephenville on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Koemel took 13th out of 28 entries in Heat B of Senior Creed Speaking.

Albany placed 12th out of 23 teams in FFA Broadcasting, Heat C.
