FFA teams compete well

Albany FFA teams claimed two Big Country District titles, a pair of top-five area finishes, and two top-25 area finishes recently at contests in Lubbock and Stephenville.

On Saturday, April 23, the plant ID team of Koy Cauble, Will LeMay, Laithe Leech, and Lute Wheeler competed at Texas Tech University. The team placed first at the district level, fourth in Area 4 and 24th in the state.

On Thursday, April 28, Cauble, LeMay, and Leech competed in the environmental Natural Resources contest at Tarleton State University, placing first in district, third in area, and 24th in state.

Also competing at Lubbock was the state cotton team of Leddie Leech, Robyn Trail, Avery Kleiner, and Presley Green, That squad placed sixth in the Big Country District, 20th in Area 4, and 38th in state.

The final event on the local FFA calendar is the Area 4 Convention Monday, May 16 in Wichita Falls.
