The Albany FFA chapter has elected officers for the 2023-2024 school year and has already started working on a number of community projects.

“We have installed officers already, and the kids have been busy working on projects to help out around town,” Albany FFA sponsor Chris Beard said. “We have cut and helped bundle cane at the Chamber office for them to use to decorate with for fall.”

Beard said that club members are preparing for competition in leadership development contests such as radio team, creed speaking, and both quiz and skill teams.

He said that students also assisted in setting up new animal pens at the show barn, as well as helping prepare the remodeled facility for a ribbon cutting earlier in the month.

Robyn Trail was elected as the president of the chapter, and Callan Edgar will serve as the vice-president. Both are seniors.

Abi Hale was named as secretary, while Will LeMay was picked as treasurer.

Kenzie Neve will serve as reporter, Laithe Leech will be the sentinel, and Kolt Koemel will be the historian.

Jake Hale was elected as parliamentarian, and Lainey Cash will be the chaplain.

“The kids are very involved in different community projects, and most of them are getting their animals if they are showing this year,” Beard said. “This is a great group of kids, and I think they will accomplish a lot this year.”
