The Albany FFA chapter has elected officers for the 2022-2023 school year and has already started working on a number of community projects.

“We installed officers, and the kids have been busy working on projects to help out around town,” Albany FFA sponsor Chris Beard said. “We have cut and stacked cane at the Chamber office for volunteers to use to decorate with for fall, we are rebuilding pens at the ag farm, and we are working on rebuilding picnic tables for the show barn.”

He said that FFA students have already cleaned up the show barn for a pig show that was held two weeks.

Leddie Leech was elected for a second year as the president of the chapter, and Gracie Price will again serve as the vice-president. Both are seniors.

Junior Robyn Trail was named as secretary. Callan Edgar, also a junior, was picked as treasurer.

Senior Chelsy Parsons will serve as reporter, Laithe Leech, a sophomore, will be the sentinel, and sophomore Abi Hale will be the historian.

Cort Peterson, a junior, was elected as parliamentarian, and sophomore Kenzie Neve will be the chaplain.

“The kids are very involved in different community projects, and most of them are getting their animals if they are showing this year,” Beard said. “This is a great group of kids who I think will accomplish a lot this year.”
