Only a limited number of spots are still available in the Albany Golf Club’s annual Labor Day tournament on, Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2 at the local course.

“Sign-ups are going really well, and we only have three spots that are still available for the 8:30 a.m. tee time on Saturday morning, and three spots left for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon,” said organizer James Waters.

Entry fees are $160 per team for the two-person scramble. Included in the entry fee is a brisket dinner on Saturday evening after the afternoon’s round of golf, and one mulligan per person per day.

Teams are flighted for Sunday tee times based upon Saturday’s scores.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each flight.

Players who want to register should contact Waters at 325-627-3598.

“The rental golf carts are all spoken for on Saturday morning, but we still have a limited number of them available to rent for that afternoon,” said Waters.

Golfers can also participate in weekly golf scrambles that will continue into the fall months on Wednesday afternoons, starting at 5:30 p.m. each week. The entry fee for those events is $10 for club members and $15 for non-members.
