Feed Store worship night delayed

The recent winter blast pushed back several events scheduled for last week, including the worship night at The Feed Store.

Feed Store Executive Director Tisha Wilkins said the worship night, featuring speaker Riley Israel, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Israel, a native of Americus, Georgia, was seen at church every time there was a service thanks to his upbringing by his parents and grandparents.

Israel also was very involved in all sports and played baseball, football, and basketball, but baseball was his first love.

Israel’s father, Renza Israel, who was a baseball coach, shared his knowledge about the sport with his son over the years.

In 1997, Israel graduated from Southland Academy and received a baseball scholarship to Middle Georgia Junior College where he played for two years before transferring to Georgia Southwestern and playing an additional year of college baseball.

Israel had the opportunity to play independent professional baseball with the Americus Arrows, but his professional career was cut short after the team folded.

Israel returned to college to finish his degree where his life took a turn, eventually landing him in a position with Power1 Ministries.

Labeled as a dynamic communicator with a passion for the ministry and school, Israel has been encouraging people with a message of hope and inspiration with Power One Ministries.

All high school students are invited to attend and if more information is needed or people wish to volunteer with the event, Wilkins can be contacted at 325-660-7443.
