Feb. 10 bake sale to benefit band

A bake sale is planned for this Saturday, Feb. 10 to benefit Albany High Schoolbandmemberswho haven’t yet reached their goal to go on the spring break band trip to Branson, Missouri.

According to Band Booster president Kelli Kreitler, the sale will be held under the portico outside The Albany News office, starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending about noon or whenever the baked goods are all gone.

Band members from eighth grade through seniors willbespendingafew days before spring break in Branson, Missouri, departing on the morning of Thursday, March 7 and arriving back inAlbany on Sunday night, March 10.

During the time they are in Branson, the band members will give a concert at the Titanic Museum, go through a ropes course, have some fun at an amusement park, and go to see The Haygoods, billed as “Branson’s Most Popular Show.”

Albany band director William Vaughan reminded parents that all students must be eligible and passing all classes in order to go on the band trip,andheaskedthatthey check grades frequently between now and the end of the fourth six weeks on Feb. 23.
