Registration continues for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Weekend of Champions leadership camps.

The camps for youth in eighth through 12th grades will be held at Eastland’s Solid Rock Camp. The girls camp will be held Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 4-5, with the boys camp following on Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 11-12.

Local FCA representative Paul Johnston, who will lead the girls camp, said that while there is no registration deadline, attendees are encouraged to sign up as early as possible.

“Kids can show up the day of and we’ll take them,” Johnston said. “It would be nice if they register early so we know how many to expect.”

Johnston said flyers and ads for both camps contain QR codes that will allow youth to register for the events.

Johnston’s program for the girls camp will have the theme of “Crown Him King” and consist of five discussion sessions designed to show and tell youth how to make God more real in their daily walk.

Jamie Calvery of Big Country FCA will lead the boys camp, which Johnston said would follow the same format, although topics of discussion may differ slightly.

Cost is $120 per camper. Johnston said scholarships are available for students who otherwise could not afford to attend.

“I don’t want any kid not to get to go because of money,” Johnston said. “If parents have questions, they can call me.”
