First Baptist Church has scheduled two events focusing on youth in the coming month.

The church will conduct a youth revival Friday-Saturday, Feb. 18-19, and a volleyball tournament on Saturday, March 12, according to youth minister Eduardo San Lucas.

In addition, First Baptist will hold its Valentine luncheon following services on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Youth Revival

The youth revival is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening with dinner following services each night.

San Lucas said the goal of the event is to bring young people to Christ.

San Lucas said Christian singer Michala Huckabay and her band will perform each night. FBC  pastor Jeff Turner will be the speaker.

Volleyball Tourney

A double-elimination volleyball tournament will be held Saturday, March at the Albany High School gym. Awards will be presented for first, second and third place.

Proceeds will be used to send youth to church camp this summer.

The tournament is open to incoming eighth graders and older. Teams must have a minimum of seven players and a maximum of 10. At least three team members must be girls.

Entry fee is $16 per person. Deadline is Sunday, March 6. Teams must have a team name and designate a team captain.

“I am going to need a lot of workers,” San Lucas said. “If members of the National Honor Society or Student Council need hours, I can put them to work.”

Valentine Luncheon

First Baptist is resuming its Valentine luncheon after a COVID-19 hiatus.

The meal will be served Feb. 13 in the Fellowship Hall following regular church services, which begin at 10:45 a.m.
