The Callahan-Shackelford County Farm Bureau has begun the new year with several new members on its board of directors.

When directors retire or move from the county during their terms on the board, new directors are appointed to fill the vacancy until the term expires.

During 2021, the positions held by H.T. Gleason and Shane Lee of Callahan County and Rocky Vinson of Shackelford County were filled respectively by Rustin Williams, Clay Smith, and Ace Reames.

Callahan-Shackelford County Farm Bureau is a non-profit county organization affiliated with the Texas Farm Bureau headquartered in Waco. County organizations oversee several programs and activities that benefit local members. There are more than 1,700 farm bureau members in the two-county area.

Supporting youth through county stock shows and school programs related to agriculture is a primary activity for Cal-Shack. Significant contributions are made annually to local food banks and emergency services.

The county organization also supports events conducted through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office.

Farm Bureau activities can be followed on the Callahan-Shackelford County Farm Bureau Facebook page.
