Rehearsals are continuing almost daily for the June performances of the Fort Griffin Fandangle, with scene practices being held on Sunday through Thursday evenings at the Prairie Theater.

The dates for the 85th anniversary show are June 16-17 and June 23-24.

“Rehearsals are still going really well,” the show’s director Lorna Ayers said. “There have been some conflicts with the end of the school year activities, but that will also be over next week. We are expecting that everyone will come more consistently.”

This Sunday, May 21 is the “absolute last day” to sign up children to be in the Fandangle, Ayers  said.

She reminded parents that all children through the sixth grade must be registered online before the May 21 rehearsal, which starts with “Little Devils” at 6:00 p.m.

The consent form and full rehearsal schedule can be found on the website at www.fortgriffinfandangle.org. Cast members or parents of children should select the “Cast” tab in the top right corner and use the password “2023” to find the release forms and a full practice schedule.

“There are details on the schedule about small group rehearsals on certain days that everyone needs to be aware of at this point,” Ayers said. “Overall, the cast seems very excited this year, and I am too.”

Ayers said that a larger number of kids are participating in the animal prairie scene at the beginning of the show this year, and more papier mache heads are needed if anyone would like to help make them.

Practice for teenagers in Huppi Hi and the “Train” are set for Wednesdays starting at 7:30 p.m., while the large production numbers will be rehearsed starting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Fort Griffin street scene and Beehive practices are on Mondays at 7:30 p.m.

Cast members are asked to join the Remind app by texting @fandan to 81010 to receive notifications pertaining to rehearsals.
