Fandangle practice to start Mar. 23
By Sandy Morris
With Fandangle memberships rolling in and Sampler invitations going out in the mail, Fandangle artistic director Lorna Ayers is ready to get started on rehearsals.
The annual Fandangle Sampler, scheduled for Saturday, April 17, is moving back to Reynolds Bend on the Lambshead Ranch after an absence of more than 20 years.
Rehearsals
Ayers said rehearsals for the Sampler will begin on Tuesday, March 23 at the Aztec Theater.
“Everyone who wants to be in the show this year will need to come to this first rehearsal,” said Ayers. “Don’t wait to join because we only have six rehearsals to get ready for the Sampler.”
Rehearsals will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
People who would like to be included in reminder texts for rehearsals and other information regarding the show can sign up by texting 81010 with the message @fandan from their cell phone.
The text should give senders an immediate response stating their number has been subscribed, as well as give them the link to the ‘Remind App’ to read previous messages.
Memberships
Fandangle office manager Jamie Parsons said memberships continue to pour into the office.
“We are getting a great response to the letters that were mailed out, as well as new membership requests,” said Parsons. “Anyone can become a member of the association even if they don’t receive a letter from our office.”
Memberships are available online by going to www.fandangle.org and clicking on the ‘Join’ box,” or by calling the Fandangle office at 325-762-3838.
Membership Levels
Memberships are available in a variety of levels, starting with the Pioneer level, for those aged 65 and over, for $25 per year.
Longhorn is the next level and will cost $75.
The Patron level is $150.
Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels are $250, $500, and $1,000 respectively.
For those who can contribute a little more to the 501(c)(3) organization, the Platinum level is $2,500 and Diamond is $5,000.
Supporters are encouraged to return their membership dues as soon as they can so they can enjoy all the benefits that go along with their charitable contribution to the production of the outdoor musical, including an invitation to the upcoming Sampler.
Summer Shows
The Prairie Theater has been the home of the summer Fandangle shows since it was built in 1965.
This year, four performances are scheduled at the Prairie Theater – June 18, 19, 25, and 26 – starting at 8:30 p.m. each evening.
The annual parade will be held on Saturday, June 19.
