Families to get commodities

Pick-up dates for the November distribution of the commodity food program will be Thursday, Nov. 3 and Friday, Nov. 4.

Moran families should pick up their monthly commodity food at the Moran City Hall between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 3.

Albany families eligible for the November food distribution program can pick up their food on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the the JP office. If the Courthouse parking lot is still closed due to construction, the distribution will be beside the JP office on Walnut Street.

Families who picked up commodities last month will also be able to receive a “Thanksgiving Bag,” according to county justice of the peace James Breeden, who oversees the program.

He explained that families on the commodities list who did not pick up their food in October will still receive a commodity bag, but will not be eligible to receive the additional Thanksgiving food because he had to have a count in order to prepare the special bags.
