Members of the Albany Parent Teacher Organization have started planning for the 2021 Fall Festival, and students, and parents from all grade levels are encouraged to attend a meeting set for next Thursday, Sept. 30.

PTO members and parents will meet right after the Campus Improvement Committee at 3:30 p.m. at Nancy Smith Elementary School, with plans to present some new ideas and also hear feedback and additional ideas from parents.

The CIC meeting will start at 3:00 p.m.

PTO president Malarie Sutton and Ragan Riley met with the Albany ISD school board on Monday, sharing some of the plans to add to this year’s event.

“We definitely don’t want to change any traditions, but we want to enhance what’s already in place,” said Sutton.

The 2020 Fall Fest was cancelled because of COVID, so organizers are excited about this year’s event.

She encouraged parents to attend next week’s meeting.

“We will be discussing some of the new ideas we have and can’t wait to share them with you,” she said “We would also love to hear feedback and ideas from you.”

Proceeds from the Fall Fest fundraiser benefit all the students in Albany ISD, those at the secondary campus as well as those at NSES, according to Sutton.

Parents of all children in the Albany Independent School District are asked to to help.

Community volunteers are also welcome.

The 2021 Fall Fest will be held Saturday, Oct. 30.
