Fall exhibitions to open at Old Jail

Three artists will be featured in the Old Jail Art Center’s fall exhibitions, scheduled to open at the local museum with a members’ reception and dinner on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The evening is free to all OJAC members, who are asked to RSVP by next Monday, Sept. 12.

Memberships range from $25 to $1,500. To obtain a membership, call the Old Jail Art Center at 325-762-2269, email­ ­kbellah @theojac.org, or visit the museum’s website, www.theojac.org.

Fall Features

Artists whose works are being exhibited starting Sept. 17 are Francesca Fuchs: Francesca Fuchs at The Suburban at the OJAC, Anselm Kiefer: Asche für Paul Celan, and Shelby David Meier: Almost Everything and More.

The exhibits by Fuchs and Meier will be display until Jan. 28, while Kiefer’s 13-foot sculpture will be in place until May 20, 2023.

Upcoming Festival

A Mid-Autumn Moon Family Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, with children of all ages invited to celebrate fall with art, crafts, food, and fun.

The Old Jail’s education department organizes the festivals, with help from docents.
