Fall is less than a week away, and fall decorations are about to appear on Main Street, as they have for a number of years.

Albany Chamber of Commerce officer Lisa Barton said everyone in town and those passing through seem to appreciate the traditional fall decor.

“Because others enjoy looking at them, we enjoy putting them up each year,” said Barton.

Everyone in the community is invited to pitch in and help display the cut cane and fall leaves down Main Street on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9:00 a.m.

Albany ag teacher Chris Beard said he and his ag class cut cane on Tuesday that will be used for the decorations.

“We take pride in our town, and we want to make it look nice and brighten the season, especially this year in these uncertain times,” Barton explained.

The autumn decor is typically displayed for all the fall events that are planned in town.

“Even though some events have been cancelled this year, we are hoping that the Homecoming will get to take place in a couple of weeks and then the Christmas parade later on,” Barton said. “Regardless of anything else, the purpose is to make downtown festive through the fall season.”
