Exhibitors show at San Antonio

Albany FFA and county 4-H students remained busy last week, exhibiting swine and cattle at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

Albany FFA’s top placing for the week came in Wave 2, where Kenzie Neve placed seventh with her Black Cross steer.

In Wave 1, Hattie Braly showed a Charolais steer and Jaxson Hoel showed a Maine Anjou steer.

Also in Wave 2, Paige Price participated with her Cross barrow.

Next up on the major show circuit is the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Judging for commercial steers starts Saturday, March 2.

Heifer judging, with Madailein Beard and Bradee Stautzenberger entered, begins Sunday, March 3. Stautzenberger also has goats with judging starting Monday, March 4.

Albany students have 13 barrows entered with judging starting Friday, March 8. Exhibitors are Price, Callan Edgar, Cash Edgar, Colter Edgar, Cooper Edgar, Tatum Grady, Slayton Parsons, Connor Smith, Creed Spencer, Crew Spencer, Calie Turner, Ciera Turner, and Ryan Turner.RyanTurnerisalso in the calf scramble.

Neve, Hoel, Hattie Braly, and Kolt Koemel have steers entering the ring beginning Saturday, March 9.

Starting Wednesday, March 6, Albany will have 19 animal projects enter judging at the Rodeo Austin Livestock Show.
