The annual Fort Griffin Fandangle parade is just over two weeks away, and organizers are looking for both sponsors and entries.

This year’s parade is scheduled to roll down Main Street at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.

Groups, families, and individuals, as well as sponsors, are urged to sign up by filling out an entry form at the Fandangle office located in the depot building.

There will again be cash prizes handed out to the judges’ picks for four of the categories including Best Fandangle Themed Float, Best Horse Troupe (at least three riders), Best Classic Car, and Best “Western” Ride (buggies, prairie schooners, stagecoaches, etc).

Entries are also being sought in categories such as Most Authentic, Best Horseman, Most Creative, Judges’ Choice, Loudest Entry (cars and sirens excluded), Best Horse, Best Classic Car that we would love to own, and Best Single Person entry.

“We really want to hear from people soon,” co-chairman Ragan Riley said. “We are asking for entry forms to be returned by Monday, June 13 so we have time to organize the parade.”

Riley said she can also be reached by email at rriley@resourcecare.org.

Shannon Leech is also serving as co-chairman of the event.

Winners will be announced at the Prairie theater shortly before the start of that evening’s performance.

“We are really hoping that people will respond and help us have a great parade again this year,” Riley said.

Parade Sponsorship

Riley said that sponsors are also needed to help fund the cash prizes and trophies.

Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are all being asked to help sponsor the parade.

There are several levels of sponsorship that are available, and all sponsors will be recognized on the day of the parade and in parade advertising.

For more information about helping sponsor the parade, contact Riley by email or calling 214-663-3271.

Anyone interested can also notify the Fandangle office to be contacted by Riley or Leech.
