EMT class to start June 30

Shackelford County EMS will offer an EMT course beginning Thursday, June 30.

Classes will be held 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. each Tuesaday and Thursday at the Shackelford County EMS Building located at 840 Gregg St. in Albany.

Cost is $500, which includes tuition, insurance, class shirt, lab use fee, and extrication. The cost does not include textbooks.

Requirements for the course are to be 18 years old by Jan. 1, 2023, have a current Texas drivers license, pass a criminal background check, have dependable Internet access with a computer or tablet, and have a dependable car or transportation. Immunization records must include Influenza, Tetanus (DpT) within the last five years, Hepatitis B series or titer, and COVID-19 vaccine.
