EMS director leaving next week
By Melinda L. Lucas
EMS supervisor Tina Ulbrich announced at Monday’s meeting of the Shackelford County hospital board that she is resigning to take another position.
Ulbrich, who has been director of the ambulance service for slightly over two years, told SCHD directors that on the previous Friday, she had been “offered a job that is too good to turn down.” She stated that she would be here until the end of March.
Several board members wished Ulbrich well, and also asked for her resignation in writing. They discussed how to advertise for replacement applicants, but there was no formal action on the matter.
In addition to Ulbrich’s leaving, district secretary Regina Whitt will be out on medical leave for several weeks starting April 1. Clinic manager Brandi Green offered to help in the district office if needed.
Election Details
Whitt reported that the upcoming hospital board election will be entirely handled by County Clerk Cheri Hawkins at the Courthouse, partly because Whitt will be out of the office, but also to save money by consolidating the board election with the May 7 amendment election.
“We will be at the bottom of the same ballot under the amendments,” said Whitt, explaining that the two elections can be combined because they are both county-wide.
